GDPR-Service

Features

How does the GDPR service work?

After the module has been installed, a domain can be deposited in the portal and the paths (sub-pages) to be scanned can be added. The verified domains are then scanned daily or weekly, depending on the package booked. After each scan you will be sent an e-mail.

In the GDPR Service Premium Package, domains can be scanned in real time, which is particularly interesting for commercial users who use the scanner for several customers and domains, such as data protection officers, law firms, agencies or consultants.

The evaluations and reports created by the GDPR service as well as cookie histories can be viewed on the portal at any time and can also be downloaded white-labeled as part of the premium package.

What do I do with the data supplied by the GDPR Service Scanner?

The GDPR service provides you with an up-to-date cookie list on a weekly or daily basis. These lists are important because you can always compare whether the cookie notice on your website needs to be updated. The same naturally applies to your privacy policy. If the cookie banner on your website needs updating, the information will be made available to you. You can therefore save yourself the tedious search for new or outdated cookies.

Regular scanning of the pages also creates a historical history in which you can see which cookies were or are active on your pages at what time. The information contained in the report can be transferred to the Consent Manager of your website.

For operators of an online shop based on Magento 1 or Magento 2 who have installed the GDPR EU PrivacyGuard module, automatic cookie synchronisation is also available.

How often do used cookies change?

The cookies on your website may not always be constant. Changes in the tracking functions or in the affiliate providers can also lead to changes, as can new technologies. In particular, cookies from third party providers are more likely to change.

Not testable without automatic tests:

  • New tracking functions.
  • Third party cookies (also possible without changes on the current page)
  • New affiliate partner programmes.
  • New technologies (third-party scripts and services).

What are the advantages of the GDPR-Service Scanner?

The GDPR service scans your website for cookies on a weekly or daily basis, thus guaranteeing that you are always up to date as to which cookies are being played on your website. This data must be entered in the Cookie Consent Manager of your website.

As the operator of the website you must describe the function in addition to the often cryptic cookie name. This is where the service of most cookie scanners ends, as the website operator often has to collect the description with great effort. The GDPR service accesses an AI-based database that is constantly updated with the latest cookie descriptions and also sorts the cookie directly into a group. This is because cookies are divided into groups (technically necessary cookies, marketing cookies, tracking cookies, social media cookies, etc.) so that visitors to your website do not see dozens of cookies in disorder.

For operators of an online shop based on Magento 1 or Magento 2 who have purchased the GDPR EU PrivacyGuard module, fully automatic cookie synchronisation is also possible.
